Word displays a series of choices, including a number of different borders you could add. In the Paragraph group, click the down-arrow to the right of the Borders tool.(If you only need to format a single paragraph, just make sure the insertion point is within that paragraph.) Its not the best solution but it would be easier than counting out spaces between each word. I eliminated the space 'betweenallthewords' and just pasted the adjusted blank space in between the words. Select the paragraphs you want to affect. Today I tried adjusting the kerning (in the character panel) between two words to an appropriate length, then I 'copied' the blank space. You can easily adjust this distance by following these steps: Word allows you to apply borders to all four sides of a paragraph-you can even have the borders be different from each other, if desired.Īfter applying border formatting, you may decide that you need some more room between the actual border lines and the text within the paragraph. Pick either 1 or 2, or choose not to check the sentence spacing. The space required between sentences can be found in the drop-down menu. Clicking on the Writing Style line will lead you to theProofing tab.
Keep with next: If you select this option, Word treats this paragraph and the next one as a single unit.Widow/orphan control: This function prevents a single line of a paragraph from appearing at the top or bottom of a page.If you switch to the second tab in the options dialog box (“Line and Page Breaks”), you have additional pagination options: Once again, you can do this under “Line and paragraph spacing” in Word on the “Home” tab, where you have the option of inserting (and removing) additional spacing or using the “Line spacing options.” Then enter a font size to set the distance between paragraphs.
In Word, you can insert the spacing either before or after the paragraph-or both. This keeps the paragraph together from a purely visual standpoint. To improve the appearance and clarity of the text, the line spacing after the last line of a paragraph should be larger than the spacing within the paragraph. Word also has a special feature for changing the spacing between paragraphs.
